英文摘要: This case introduces a fast growing warehouse supermarket, Costco Wholesale Corporation, which is the largest United States’ membership-only warehouse club that provides a wide variety of merchandise.Costco sustained a high rapid of development during the period of economic downturnin United States. It is the second largest retailers in United States and the seventh in the world retail industry as well. The growing process, business philosophy, expansion strategy and steps in controlling the cost of operation management,the measures which are used in dealing with the challenge from Sam's club are described in this case.Besides,this paper introduces the important decision in the process of entering the Chinese market. We will find important characteristics of the membership-only warehouse club through the case of Costco.
