英文摘要: When various industries are profoundly altered by the wave of standardization and subversive improvement in efficiency, the design industry has seemed to emerge as an exception. Creative design has been featured by non-standardization and covered with a series of “latent rules”, leading to a chronic disease of low efficiency, fragmentation and opacity in this huge market. Mired in chaos of plagiarism, draft cheating and arrears, designers are framing the height of their professional development through the ability of customer acquisition rather than their design levels. Whale Design, born in 2016, aims at providing a fair competitive environment for designers and offering “desirable” design projects for enterprises by organizing contests and introducing game elements. For Wang Simin, the founder of Whale Design, how to reshape fair industry ecology through competitions and how to boost negative and slack spirits of designers remain as significant issues demanding prompt solutions in his process design. But limitations in gamification mode also arise with the advancement of management practices in Whale Design. And now, Wang Simin has to make decisions on the upgrade of gamification strategy.
